Position Title: Commercial Project Manager
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week
Summary of Duties: Serves as a strategic business partner to Project Managers, driving project success by ensuring quality execution, adherence to schedules, and alignment with budgetary targets. Provides critical support in claim and change management processes, particularly in relation to scope variations. Monitors and controls project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables in close collaboration with senior management and relevant stakeholders. The role entails full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, oversight of cash flow performance, and execution of month-end closing activities. Responsible for establishing a proper project structure that aligns with the approved budget and contractual obligations. This includes ensuring timely billing, accurate cost recognition, and effective management of financial backlog, accounts receivable, and overall project cash flow. Supports procurement activities by validating that purchase orders are competitively sourced, budget-compliant, and consistent with contractual terms and conditions. Coordinates contractual requirements such as performance guarantees, insurance coverage, tax considerations, sureties, and currency management to ensure full compliance with contractual commitments. Ensures adherence to Siemens’ Levels of Authority and commercial guidelines, including risk and opportunity management processes, while maintaining the quality and integrity of all commercial and administrative project policies in accordance with Siemens standards and applicable legal and tax regulations. Maintains accurate and compliant financial documentation to ensure successful audit outcomes. Resolve complex issues within the project environment to guarantee successful delivery in line with customer expectations and contractual terms. Proactive engagement with internal Siemens delivery units and external subcontractors is required, particularly in navigating challenges related to import duties and local tax implications across the supply chain. Communication with customer representatives and suppliers to address and resolve commercial issues effectively. Provides insightful analysis of project performance during management reviews, contributing to informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Hybrid work permitted.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience in the following: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel and PowerPoint—as well as SAP is fundamental. Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Knime, and AI-based solutions. Must possess strong analytical capabilities and demonstrate a thorough understanding of accounting principles, including IFRS and local GAAPs. The ability to apply complex accounting methods such as percentage-of-completion and completed contract accounting. One (1) year of experience in ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines standards is required, particularly within the framework of monthly and quarterly financial statements, supported by audit-proof documentation. Experience in project management methodology, including project structure setup, scheduling, controlling, and budget planning, as well as the application of financial reporting guidelines and limits of authority processes. A solid understanding of supply chain operations, including customs duties regulations. Expertise in international tax regulations, such as PATAC, permanent establishment considerations, transfer pricing, sales taxes, VAT (value added tax), and income tax compliance. The ability to analyze contracts and apply international legal principles. Must be capable of conducting detailed financial P&L (profit and loss) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) analyses, identifying and managing risks and opportunities, and supporting procurement-related decisions. Experience in audits and internal control procedures is necessary, along with the ability to forecast project financials—including orders, revenue, and free cash flow—with a particular focus on managing accounts receivable. Ability to report project performance to management with clarity and precision. Experience working in international teams and across diverse cultural environments and ability to perform under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
