Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.

Position Overview
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Formal Verification team and help advance the Questa product family. In this role, you'll work across the entire software development lifecycle—from functional specifications and algorithm design through implementation and testing. You'll collaborate with world-class engineering teams to deliver innovative formal verification solutions that help our customers push the boundaries of chip, board, and system design. This is an opportunity to take ownership of key components, mentor colleagues, and drive software excellence while working with top-tier industry customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver new features for formal verification software, ensuring quality, scalability, and testability across the product portfolio
  • Design algorithms, write functional specifications, and create comprehensive test plans that drive product excellence
  • Customize existing solutions and improve software components to meet evolving customer and market needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to understand requirements, solve complex problems, and deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Take ownership of specific components and drive them to excellence while maintaining best software development practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to elevating technical standards across the team

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with exposure to design and verification domains
  • Strong proficiency in C++, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Hands-on expertise in hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL)
  • Proven experience with development tools and platforms (git, gdb, makefiles, Linux)
  • Proven ability to deliver large, end-to-end software projects and solve complex technical problems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash, or Tcl)
  • Experience with formal verification, synthesis, simulation, assertions, or coverage-based testing
  • Self-motivated, collaborative mindset with strong communication and presentation skills
