In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is delivering one of the country’s first high-speed rail system. This landmark project, spanning approximately 2,000 kilometers, will connect 60 cities across Egypt, transforming transportation for both passengers and goods. Today, we are recruiting for a Country Compliance Officer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Define and drive the implementation of an Integration Strategy to ensure sustainable Compliance Assurance across Siemens Mobility Egypt (SMO) and the High-Speed Train (HST) project.
- Lead Compliance risk management activities, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of key risks within the area of responsibility.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Mobility management in Egypt and the HST project on Compliance, Data Privacy, and Export Control topics.
- Ensure effective implementation of global guidelines, regulations, and Siemens operational Compliance processes, covering Compliance, Data Privacy, and Export Control frameworks.
- Adapt policies, processes, and training materials where required to address local regulatory requirements and mitigate specific Compliance risks.
- Support Compliance investigations and audits in alignment with LC CO Regulatory, ensuring appropriate remediation measures are implemented when needed.
- Conduct Compliance reviews for Third Party Intermediaries (TPI), Benefits events, and Letters of Authorization (LoA) in line with defined approval frameworks.
- Provide regular Compliance updates to management and ensure proper tracking and follow-up of actions.
- Maintain close alignment with business operations through active participation in management meetings and key operational discussions.
- Establish and maintain Compliance Ambassador, Export Control Associate, and Data Privacy Advisor networks across the area of responsibility.
- Support Compliance communication and training initiatives to foster a strong speak-up and integrity culture.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including SCM, Legal, People & Organization, project teams, auditors, business partners, customers, and regulatory bodies.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, preferably in Compliance, Legal, or Governance-related roles.
- Strong expertise in risk assessment methodologies and the development of effective risk mitigation strategies.
- In-depth understanding of global Compliance frameworks, including anti-corruption regulations (e.g., UK Bribery Act, FCPA), fraud prevention, Data Privacy laws, and Export Control regulations.
- Proven track record of operating within complex, multi-jurisdictional, and multicultural environments.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities, particularly in due diligence, investigations, and preventive risk management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, complemented by hands-on experience with AI-driven tools (e.g., Copilot, generative AI solutions) in a business context.
- Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence at senior management level.
- High level of intercultural awareness and ability to navigate matrix organizational structures effectively.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, sound judgment, and a decisive, solution-oriented mindset with a strategic perspective.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; additional language skills (e.g., German) are considered an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Siemens Compliance Systems and Trade Compliance Rules is considered a plus.
