The Business Developer Manager
is responsible for building strategic relationships with consulting engineers and design firms across Quebec. As a trusted technical advisor, this role promotes Siemens' Building Automation, Fire, Security, Energy Management, IoT, and Software solutions, influencing project specifications and driving business growth through collaboration with internal sales and product teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 
  • Develop and execute a national and regional consultant engagement strategy.
  • Provide technical and design support to consultants in the fields of Building Automation, Fire, Security, Energy management, Internet of Things, and Software solutions
  • Build executive and working-level relationships with consulting firms acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Establish Siemens as the preferred technical partner during project planning and design phases.
  • Conduct regular visits, workshops, lunch-and-learns, and technical presentations with consulting firms and end users.
  • Develop consultant account plans and relationship maps for strategic firms.
  • Deliver presentations on emerging technologies, system architectures, codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Represent Siemens at industry events, engineering conferences, professional associations, and trade organizations.
  • Collaborate with consultants to ensure specifications leverage open, interoperable, and future-ready solutions.
  • Support bid strategy and pursuit planning on key projects.
  • Assist in the development of technical sales tools, design guides, and consultant-facing collateral.
  • Support market development within strategic verticals
  • Ability to travel regionally to conduct meetings and training sessions
  • Coordinate with Area Managers, Product Managers, Marketing mangers, Territory managers and others on Go To Market strategies.
  • Support the growth of both Direct and Indirect sales channels 
 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Systems, Business, or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation considered a strong asset.

Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in:
  • Building automation
  • Fire and life safety systems
  • Smart buildings
  • Energy management
  • Building technologies
  • Technical sales or business development
  • Demonstrated success working with consulting engineers and design firms.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery processes and specification development
  • Possess a strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE, UL, BOMA, WiredScore, SmartScore, etc.
 

Bilingualism requirement

The successful candidate for this position must be bilingual. Fluency in French and English (verbal and written) is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position for the following reason(s):

  • The role requires interacting with English-speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or internationally;
  • The role requires regular interactions with Siemens colleagues based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally;
  • The role requires using software or technology that is available only in English;
  •  The role requires liaising with foreign regulatory and governmental agencies based in the United States and/or Europe;
