How you'll make an impact:
- Strategic AI Legal Counsel: Partner with teams across Siemens to provide practical legal guidance on a broad range of AI-related matters, including:
- Regulatory Compliance: Navigate and advise on evolving AI regulations, ethical guidelines, and industry standards across various jurisdictions, with a primary focus on the EU.
- Data Strategy & Licensing: Counsel on sophisticated data acquisition, licensing, usage, governance, privacy, and security issues pertinent to AI model training, deployment, and operation.
- Intellectual Property: Advise on IP ownership, licensing, and protection strategies for AI-generated content, algorithms, and models.
- Product Development: Embed legal considerations into the invent, development, and deployment lifecycle of AI-powered products and services.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with AI, including bias, discrimination, accountability, and liability.
- Commercial Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements involving AI technologies, partnerships, and vendor relationships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, product management, research & development, data science, cybersecurity, and business development teams to integrate legal compliance into AI initiatives from conception to launch.
- Policy & Advocacy: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments in AI law, contributing to internal policy development and external advocacy efforts as needed.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver training programs for internal stakeholders on AI legal risks, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Your experience and strengths:
- Education
Qualified lawyer in an EU/EEA jurisdiction, the UK, or Switzerland
- Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department, with a strong focus on technology law
- Proven experience advising on AI technologies and related legal matters, ideally within a multinational technology or AI company
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and their application in AI contexts
- Knowledge of intellectual property rights related to software, data, and AI solutions
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex legal topics into practical guidance for technical and business audiences
