What will you do?
- Lead medium- to large-scale projects from order entry through final delivery, ensuring successful execution, customer satisfaction, and adherence to contractual requirements. Coordinate installation and commissioning activities with service personnel as required.
- Manage the technical order execution process for Air-Insulated and Gas-Insulated Medium Voltage Switchgear projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring contractual obligations are met while effectively coordinating internal stakeholders and manufacturing facilities to achieve project objectives within schedule and budget.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop, review, and release engineering designs, project documentation, and technical deliverables.
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings and maintain proactive communication with customers by providing regular project schedules, progress updates, and performance reports.
- Manage all customer-facing project documentation, including engineering drawings, inspection and test plans (ITPs), technical submittals, and other contract-required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, contractual specifications, and quality management processes, while maintaining accurate quality records and documentation.
- Manage procurement activities for subcontracted products and services, including supplier selection, purchase order placement, commercial negotiations, delivery commitments, and terms and conditions.
- Monitor and expedite supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services in support of project schedules.
- Track and manage subcontractor deliverables, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to mitigate schedule or performance impacts.
- Coordinate and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), ensuring equipment meets customer specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements prior to shipment.
- Coordinate logistics activities with manufacturing plants, suppliers, and logistics teams to ensure on-time shipment and delivery of project equipment.
- Identify, monitor, and manage project risks, issues, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Maintain project financial performance by monitoring budgets, controlling costs, forecasting expenditures, and supporting timely invoicing and cash collection activities.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive collaboration, resolve issues efficiently, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered a strong asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the electrical power distribution or related industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, cost control, budgeting, and closeout.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high levels of accuracy, organization, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience delivering projects involving:
- Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear
- Low Voltage (LV) Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Packaged Substations
- Experience coordinating with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing facilities for the design, production, and delivery of medium-voltage switchgear solutions (air-insulated and gas-insulated) is preferred.
- Experience managing site installation and commissioning activities, including schedule management, resource coordination, issue resolution, and deficiency tracking, is highly desirable.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status, risks, and key milestones to stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project, as well as Adobe Acrobat PDF.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–30% of the time.
[Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 100,000.00 CAD - $ 125,000.00 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus up to 18% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.]
