High-Frequency NVH Seam QA Engineer – Simcenter HyperMesh NVH
We are Siemens
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our software.
We are seeking an experienced High-Frequency NVH Seam QA Engineer to join our Simcenter engineering team and contribute to the quality and validation of advanced NVH simulation solutions.
In this role, you will validate high-frequency Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) workflows, with a particular focus on seam and joint modeling within Simcenter HyperMesh NVH. You will apply your knowledge of NVH physics, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), and engineering simulation to assess software functionality, numerical behavior, and the physical credibility of simulation results.
Working closely with software development, product engineering, and other global cross-functional teams, you will identify and investigate defects, validate fixes, develop automated tests, and help ensure that our simulation solutions meet high standards for quality, reliability, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, regression, and workflow-based testing for Simcenter HyperMesh NVH, with a focus on high-frequency NVH functionality, product quality, and release readiness.
- Validate high-frequency NVH methodologies and simulation workflows, including Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), hybrid FE-SEA approaches, wave-based methods, and related numerical techniques.
- Verify and validate seam and joint representations, including spot welds, seam welds, adhesives and bonding, hemming, and other structural connection methodologies.
- Evaluate the influence of seam and joint modeling on structural stiffness, dynamic response, vibration behavior, and noise transmission paths, ensuring the physical credibility of simulation results.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects using Jira, working closely with development teams to perform root-cause investigation, validate fixes, and improve software and solver robustness.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and automated test routines to improve regression coverage, testing efficiency, repeatability, and overall product quality.
- Collaborate with software development, product engineering, and global cross-functional teams to review requirements, validate customer-relevant use cases, and continuously improve NVH simulation quality and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of NVH fundamentals, including modal analysis, frequency response, structural dynamics, acoustics, and noise/vibration transmission mechanisms.
- Strong knowledge of high-frequency NVH simulation techniques, particularly Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), hybrid FE-SEA approaches, and related numerical methods.
- Solid understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and the ability to interpret complex engineering simulation results, numerical behavior, and underlying physics.
- Hands-on experience with VA One, Simcenter HyperMesh NVH, or comparable NVH/CAE simulation solutions; exposure to Abaqus, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, ANSA, or similar tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Body-in-White (BIW) structures, seam/joint modeling, solver physics, and numerical methods, with experience in NVH correlation and target setting considered an advantage.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python strongly preferred, along with familiarity with Git/version control and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in CAE software QA, verification, or simulation software validation.
- Exposure to electric vehicle NVH, including tonal and high-frequency noise challenges.
- Understanding of acoustic trim modeling, sound packages, and noise transmission treatments.
- Experience validating customer use cases and translating real-world engineering workflows into effective software test scenarios.
