At Siemens, we have bold ambitions to advance AI and become a truly data-driven enterprise. By scaling the Siemens Data Cloud and building strong data foundations, we enable the next generation of Industrial AI services.

We are looking for a Data Hunter to join and strengthen our team. This role is for someone who works effectively in complex and evolving environments, is highly self-motivated, and enjoys solving ambiguous challenges that may change over time. The ideal candidate combines strong customer-facing skills, including experience in customer discussions and contract negotiations, with a solid technical understanding of industrial data, AI service team needs, and the way Siemens operates in this space. This is an entrepreneurial, structure-building role for someone who is energized by unclear situations, enjoys shaping topics that have not been done before, and is comfortable experimenting, learning, and collaborating within a few essential guardrails. The clear focus is on the outcome: securing as much relevant, high-value data as possible.
Your Role in Our Vision
You will play a key role in identifying and securing the data assets required to advance Siemens’ strategic AI initiatives. Working closely with AI teams, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Legal, and IT, you will unlock high-value data across customers, suppliers, partners, and internal ecosystems.
You will bring clarity to complex, federated environments by translating AI/ML and business data needs into actionable data acquisition strategies across systems such as PLM, IoT/OT, ERP, and MES.
Through proactive engagement and negotiation, you will create opportunities for data sharing and ensure timely access to trusted, compliant, and high-impact datasets that enable digital products and enterprise-wide AI capabilities.
You will ensure that each data acquisition is compliant, contractually sound, and scalable, bridging product needs, partner realities, and Siemens governance requirements.
What we offer you:

  • An attractive remuneration package
  • Appealing Siemens pension benefits
  • Access to Siemens share plans
  • Flexible training opportunities for both your professional and personal development that you can tailor to your interests
  • Barrier-free locations

Since each of over 300,000 team members feels that other benefits are particularly important, and we cannot list our entire benefit portfolio here, you can find more information here.

The individual benefits are subject to regulatory, contractual, or corporate conditions.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Identify, assess, and qualify high-value data sources both within Siemens and across the external ecosystem, ensuring alignment with product and business needs.
  • Translate data needs into clear technical and commercial requirements, including specifications, acceptance criteria, metadata, lineage, governance controls, and measurable quality standards.
  • Develop data-sourcing strategies and acquisition roadmaps, prioritizing opportunities based on business value, feasibility, scalability, and time to access.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective data partners, lead strategic discussions, and coordinate outreach together with Sales and Supply Chain Management—with the goal of establishing successful data partnership agreements.
  • Collaborate with Siemens teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners to identify partnership opportunities, negotiate suitable collaboration models, and prepare contractual agreements.
  • Enable product-driven data evaluation by establishing effective feedback loops with data partners and proactively addressing data availability and quality gaps.
  • Expand the Siemens Data Alliance by attracting, onboarding, and developing new data-sharing partners.
  • Identify and manage legal, regulatory, and commercial risks related to export control, intellectual property, data privacy, personally identifiable information, and licensing.
  • Work closely with Legal, Cybersecurity, IT, and Data Engineering to establish secure and compliant solutions for data transfer, storage, lifecycle management, retention, and end-of-life handling.
Your defining qualities:
  • Education: A master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience & Skills:
    • At least eight years of relevant professional experience in data acquisition, data consulting, data architecture, data governance, or a comparable strategic data role—preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
    • A strong understanding of modern data ecosystems, including data management systems, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based data architectures such as Snowflake, AWS, and Microsoft Azure.
    • Proven experience in developing external partnerships, leading commercial discussions, and negotiating contractual agreements related to data acquisition or data sharing.
    • Sound knowledge of data governance frameworks as well as data quality, metadata management, and data lineage principles.
    • A strong understanding of data security, privacy regulations, intellectual property protection, licensing, and export-control requirements.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships with internal and external partners.
    • The ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear business implications and actionable decisions.
  • Ways of working:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, paired with a proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset.
    • A high level of curiosity and the motivation to continuously learn, challenge existing approaches, and adapt to an evolving data landscape.
  • Languages: Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
