Part Time Working Student (Logistics Process Engineer)
In Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation business unit in Gebze factory location, for our Production Logistics & Dispatch organization, we are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and team-oriented long-term Part Time Working Student. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year. This function has been established to support & develop logistics and dispatch-related process improvement initiatives aiming at achieving lean and efficient material flows, smart warehouse solutions, and sustainable organizational processes which will lead to a competitive advantage for Siemens Switchgear Community.
What part will you play?
• Support ongoing Warehouse Automation and digital logistics processes.
• Perform SAP / Master Data checks and validations.
• Conduct technical drawing analyses to support logistics and packaging solutions.
• Analyze and document process flows to identify optimization opportunities.
• Perform loss/waste analysis and propose improvement actions.
• Participate in on-site studies such as 5S audits, Gemba walks, and process observations.
• Support the team in preparing AutoCAD-based layouts and simple technical drawings.
• Contribute to data analysis and reporting through basic SQL queries and Power BI dashboards.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
• 3rd year university student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Able to work minimum 2-3 days/week in Gebze office.
• Basic knowledge of LEAN, logistics processes, and material handling systems.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to observe and document logistics processes.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic and results-oriented setting.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Technical Drawings.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred additional qualifications:
• Willingness to take an active role in automation and digital warehouse projects.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Power BI or other data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of logistics KPIs, warehouse operations, and dispatch processes.
• Interest in continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, lean logistics).
