As market leaders across rail, road and logistics, Siemens Mobility are pursuing the goal of networking various transportation systems with one another to move people and goods efficiently - Complete Mobility.

The role of the QMiP is to act as an expert and support the Project Manager as a partner by planning, supervising, assurance and reporting of appropriate activities with regards to failure prevention and effective process implementation (pro-active and re-active). The QMiP acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement in all PM@Siemens project phases, e.g. by communicating lessons learned from other projects to his/her team as well as documenting own lessons learned for other projects and process improvement. Of particular importance is the authority to intervene at any stage in the project, in cases of non-conformance in delivery and project results. The QMiP acts as a member of the core project team, monitoring and reporting the quality status to the Project Manager and Delivery Director.

Ensure good practice sharing and feedback of experience e.g. through continuous improvement workshops (esp. lessons learned) and project assessments. Own the Quality Improvement Plan for your region and manage the progression of actions.
  • Quality-based Supplier Management: Plan and ensure the required quality level of the project-specific supply chain (internal & external) with the focus on specifications and interface definitions. This includes the support of the SQM in the application of supplier-related procedures, such as selection, qualification, development, integration, supervision, and auditing.
