What will you do?
The Customs Associate position is responsible for requesting, obtaining, and reviewing certificates of origin from foreign suppliers, to incorporate them into the origin qualification process for products manufactured at Siemens plants in Mexico, for subsequent export.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the request and collection of certificates of origin, as well as the review and validation of origin certificates, in accordance with the requirements of various trade agreements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain or update certificates of origin, ensuring timely receipt of the required documentation in compliance with applicable trade agreements.
• Communicate with internal departments to follow up, update information, or escalate cases that impact the request and validation process of certificates of origin.
• Update and integrate databases and information related to Free Trade Agreements and the certificate of origin request processes.
• Analyze information in databases (Excel, Access, or other tools) to validate and update records related to certificates of origin.
• Comply with corporate policies for document archiving and retention, ensuring the integrity, traceability, and availability of files related to FTAs.
• Identify deviations in the certificate of origin application processes by Customs Brokers, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Implement strategies to ensure the correct application of tariff preferences in import declarations.
• Provide support during internal or external audits related to customs operations, origin, or trade agreement compliance.

Profile:
• Required university degree: International Trade, International Business, International Relations, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience performing activities related to International Trade.
• English: Intermediate level, spoken and written.
• Goal and results-oriented.
• Experience with databases and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (desirable).
