Are you a proactive and experienced Buyer looking for an exciting opportunity to shape procurement strategies and drive operational excellence? At Siemens, we're looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team and contribute to our global success. If you thrive in international environments, possess strong analytical skills, and are passionate about continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

Position Overview:

This critical role supports our customer, customer support organization, and product management organization in North America by taking on purchasing responsibilities for finished goods products from Siemens plants and/or external vendors. As a Buyer, you will work closely with our plants and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of products to our customers. Your focus will be on key metrics such as delivery reliability, asset management, and effective communication, all while contributing to a seamless supply chain.

What You Will Do:

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our operational purchasing, ensuring efficient and effective processes. Your main tasks will include:

  • Operational Purchasing: Create purchase orders based on customer needs and inventory replenishment using SAP.
  • Financial Management: Manage Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) processes, review invoices in the P2P tool, and handle price discrepancies and confirmation messages.
  • Communication & Coordination: Provide detailed information on expected material availability to customer service, product management, and sales using Sie Sales and email.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Establish top priorities and foster strong relationships with vendors, maintaining supplier performance and driving vendor development activities.
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate quality returns to vendors and ensure the correct posting of credits.
  • Process Optimization: Manage purchase order maintenance, aging, and ensure timely goods receipts versus invoices.
  • Continuous Improvement & Digitalization: Actively participate in and lead improvement projects aimed at optimizing procurement processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency, including contributing to digitalization initiatives within the procurement function.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing guidelines, and relevant regulations.

What We Need From You:

To excel in this role, you'll bring a blend of experience, technical skills, and a proactive mindset:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in a Buyer or similar procurement role.
  • Education: A college degree is required.
  • ERP Proficiency: Advanced user knowledge of SAP (e.g., SAP MM) or other major ERP systems.
  • Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Language Skills:  English is mandatory.

Why You'll Love Working with Us:

At Siemens, we are committed to building a better future. You'll be part of a global team that values innovation, diversity, and continuous learning. We offer a supportive work environment where your contributions are recognized and your professional growth is encouraged. Join us and help us make real what matters!
