As a Technology Expert you are a member of an international industrial automation team working on pioneering solutions for our global projects that will shape the energy industry of tomorrow.
Embedded in a team of specialists from industrial Automation domain, you take responsibility for worldwide O&G, Chemical, Marine, Hydrogen & Digital engineering solutions executed by the Business Area EAD within the Transformation of Industry. In these projects, you are in charge as a Technology Expert for the technical realization of the system, solution, plant and their equipment sourced internally and externally.
How You’ll Make an Impact
In your new position, you will fully support EAD Projects in Automation Industry & digital to effectively drive a global engineering strategy that aligns with Siemens Energy vision while addressing diverse customer and regional needs
-You Will define the standardization vision
Align with business objectives: Ensure hardware standards support goals - cost efficiency, sustainability, time-to-market, and innovation.
Set clear scope and boundaries: Identify which hardware components, systems, or platforms are in scope globally vs. regionally.
- Establish Governance & Ownership
Create a global hardware standardization board with regional leads and domain experts.
Define roles and responsibilities for standard owners, reviewers, and implementers.
Implement a change management process for updating standards based on feedback and innovation.
- Develop and Document Standards
Create a centralized repository for hardware standards, specifications, and guidelines.
Use modular design principles to allow flexibility for regional adaptations.
Ensure interoperability and compliance with global regulations and certifications.
- Drive Implementation Across Teams
Integrate standards into product development lifecycles and engineering workflows.
Provide training and toolkits to regional teams to ensure adoption and understanding.
Leverage digital platforms (e.g., PLM systems) to enforce and track standard usage.
- Monitor, Measure, and Improve
Track KPIs such as part reuse rate, cost savings, time-to-market, and defect reduction.
Collect feedback from engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to refine standards.
Benchmark against industry best practices to stay competitive and innovative.
- Foster a Culture of Standardization
Promote the benefits of standardization—efficiency, quality, scalability.
Recognize and reward teams that contribute to successful standardization efforts.
Encourage innovation within the framework of standards to avoid stifling creativity.

What You Bring
- Degree in electrical engineering or automation technology, or alternatively, professional expertise of several years in an industrial environment is available
- Engineering: Focus on standardizing designs, processes, and components in manufacturing and product development.
- Quality Management: Implement quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, to improve product and service quality.
- Information Technology: Develop standards for software, data management, and IT systems.
- Skills and qualifications - Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Experienced in working in international engineering teams.
