Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Higher Education Energy Efficiency Sales Executive to develop and close comprehensive energy and infrastructure modernization projects across the Northeast region.
In this role, you will focus on helping colleges and universities meet their decarbonization, deferred maintenance, and financial resilience goals through Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and other innovative funding mechanisms. You will act as a trusted advisor to campus leaders, providing consultative guidance on energy, operational, and financial solutions backed by Siemens’ global expertise in performance contracting, smart buildings, and sustainability.
As a Higher Education Energy Efficiency Sales Executive, you will:
- Business Development & Client Engagement
- Identify, qualify, and develop new higher education opportunities for ESPC, infrastructure renewal, and campus energy optimization.
- Build trusted relationships with university CFOs, facilities executives, sustainability officers, and boards.
- Represent Siemens at regional higher education and energy industry events
- Solution Development & Sales Execution
- Lead multidisciplinary pursuit teams through the full sales cycle—from initial discovery through financial close.
- Develop customized technical and financial solutions addressing deferred maintenance, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon neutrality goals.
- Work closely with Siemens development engineers, finance specialists, and project teams to structure projects that align with institutional priorities and risk tolerance.
- Financial Structures & Funding Solutions
- Utilize a wide range of financial models including:
- Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs)
- Design-Build and Guaranteed Energy Savings Agreements
- Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Renewable Energy PPAs
- Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) models
- Utility rebate and incentive programs
- Grants and low-interest financing (e.g., state programs, federal IRA and DOE funding)
- Present clear value propositions demonstrating energy savings, operational efficiencies, and sustainability ROI.
- Territory & Account Management
- Manage regional pipeline and forecasting through Siemens’ CRM tools (Salesforce).
- Monitor energy policy and incentive trends affecting higher education funding in the Northeast.
- Achieve or exceed annual order and margin targets.
You’ll make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience selling ESPC, energy infrastructure, or performance-based solutions to higher education or the public sector.
- Proven track record of developing complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities and closing seven-figure solutions.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, energy savings calculations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Willingness to travel within the Northeast region (up to 50%).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established network within higher education facilities and finance leaders in the Northeast.
- Familiarity with state and utility incentive programs
- Knowledge of federal funding programs supporting energy resilience and decarbonization
- Passion for advancing sustainability, resiliency, and carbon neutrality in education.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually plus an uncapped commission structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
