Principal Solution Engineer

Position Title: Principal Solution Engineer
Salary $172,910 / Year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week
Summary of Duties: Conduct technical onsite assessments to analyze customer requirements and perform configuration of a scalable and highly available enterprise Siemens Smart Grid EnergyIP® MDM software platform and associated IoT solutions. Design and document workflows, new processes, data flows, and integrations with existing systems and business practices. Perform customer facing training, demonstrations, installations, and configuration of enterprise software, including EnergyIP®, SAP Adapter, AMI adapters, and OMS. Provide technical subject matter expertise to assist the customer in analyzing test scripts, interpreting system test results, and triaging defects. Identity, log, track, and assist in the resolution of software and process issues. Provide the first tier of support for technical questions on software functionality from end-users and internal and external customers. Deliver projects with minimal supervision and in accordance with best practices. Up to 20% domestic travel required. Remote work permitted.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: MDM, AMI, and enterprise systems integration on large scale implementations spanning a full project lifecycle; Customer-facing consulting experience; Creating technical documentation, such as requirements, or high- and low-level design documents; Product Configuration and writing SQL queries. The position requirements experience with the following: Web technology deployment, configuration, and administration; Siemens EnergyIP® MDMS; Smart Grid initiatives and regulation in North America; Utility industry and smart grid or smart meter technology; Cloud platforms, networking, communication protocols, and sensors; IT networking requirements; and Working in an agile or scrum-based environment. Up to 20% domestic travel required. Remote work permitted.
