Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled automotive mechanic, ideally with experience in vehicle restoration, who is ready to transition into the industrial railway sector.
Siemens Mobility is hiring a Motors/Gearbox Assembly Technician to overhaul and rebuild locomotive gears. You will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling components according to drawings and guidelines to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met. You will inspect and adjust completed motors to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. We have a training and development plan waiting for you!   

Shift: 5:30pm – 4:00am (2-3 months of training will be on 1st shift which is 6:30am – 5pm)

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Assemble, disassemble, and adjust mechanical components of engines and gearboxes.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve assembly processes.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery.

To thrive in this role, you have:

• HS diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training in automotive mechanics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a car mechanic or vehicle restorer.
• Proficiency with precision tools and measurement instruments.
• Ability to work in a team and follow technical procedures.
• Preferred: experience in industrial or railway environments.
• Ability to physically lift 35 pounds
• Ability to learn and process information quickly and execute tasks successfully
• Ability to work safely and to operate power tools and equipment in a safe manner

The hourly range for this position in Georgia is $20.00- $22.00, (plus a 10% shift differential for second shift). The rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The pay for this position is $20.00- $22.00 per hour, plus an additional 10% shift differential. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
