We are looking for Engineer Electrics

The supplier support engineer for electrical components is responsible for the development, processing and optimization, as well as technical innovations of the corresponding components together with suppliers. These components are primarily current collector and earthing contacts, but also related elements of the cabling on the bogie. The supplier support engineer is also responsible for ensuring function in the overall system and supports integration into adjacent assemblies and chassis.

You’ll make a difference by

• Compliance with legal, internal and project requirements.
• Responsibility for deadlines, costs and quality for corresponding components
• Processing of the development work packages in accordance with the specifications of the technical offer, requirement specifications and customer requirements
• Component development in consultation with the development partners
• Maintenance, further development and new development of the components in coordination with the segment teams (preparation of specification, technical clarification and negotiation as well as evaluation of supplier offers, cooperation in supplier determination, technical support supplier, design review supplier, collaboration in initial sample inspection, technical support for maintenance documentation, Q-notifications, warranty, field data acquisition component, ...)
• Responsibility for the functional integration of the component into the overall vehicle
• Review and timely release of development documents (specifications, drawings, calculations, descriptions, material masters, parts lists)
• Carrying out clarifications with engineering partners (provisions, car bodies, suppliers, etc.)
• Support of the BG employees regarding the installation and use of the components
• Participation in quality gates at the supplier (e.g. design reviews, type tests and first article tests)
• Preparation of customer documentation (functional vehicle description)
• Technical representation and presentations at the customer's site
• Deadline, cost controlling and reporting, adherence to planned values and milestone dates
• Changes to the agreed scope of delivery and services promptly for processing (claim to suppliers, design change or additional commissioning in the project)
• Participation in project status meetings, design reviews and quality gates
• Contact with suppliers, securing a cross-project supplier relationship, coaching of supplier relationships, technical supplier evaluation
• Development and safeguarding of long-term specialist knowledge
• Collaboration in case of difficult warranty problems
• The engineer is forming the technical interface in his scope of responsibility with the suppliers

Desired Skills:

• Several years of industry experience required (5–8 years)
• Good knowledge in a technical field or business method including the basic theoretical background.
• Develops basic business understanding.
• Contributes to team effort, awareness of expected value add.
• May improve processes, business methods or technical components.
• Solid knowledge of theoretical foundation in a technical field or method with a focus on growing practical experiences.
