The role:
Siemens Industry Software has a new opportunity for an Intern to join us on a 13-month paid placement located in London, UK, to support our Global Portfolio, PreSales, and Sales Planning teams through reporting and analytics.
During an initial 2–3-month onboarding period, the Reporting and Analytics Intern will be fully office-based, Monday to Friday. Once the onboarding period has ended, and based on management discretion, voluntary hybrid working - with a weekly maximum of working 2 days from home - will be an option for the remainder of the placement period.
This position is an exciting opportunity for someone to network frequently with senior business leaders, the Siemens worldwide organisation, and to support the execution of our go-to-market strategy.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to support and drive internal projects to completion.
- Maintenance and development of Tableau dashboards.
- Data ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) using Tableau Prep, SQL, Excel, Alteryx and/or other tools.
- Streamlining and automation of processes and dashboards.
- Maintenance of process and dashboard documentation.
- Potential to explore advanced analytics using Generative AI.
- Develop the ability to take ownership of assigned project(s) and drive to completion, with increasing independence over the course of the internship.
What you'll bring
- Strong interest in data analytics
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Use of data visualisation software such as Tableau, Power BI or similar would a plus
- Customer-first mindset, focused on understanding and solving business problems
- Highly organised, with a strong attention to detail
- Flexible, adaptable and proactive, confident working under minimal supervision
- Confidently reaching out to colleagues outside your network to ask for input and support
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable with frequent remote meetings using Microsoft Teams
- Understanding of Software Sales and/or Software companies is a plus
- Currently studying a numerical/scientific degree would be a plus
