Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Inc is seeking to fill a position within its dynamic railroad environment in New Castle, Delaware. The role involves providing direct support for fleet reliability and maintenance planning across various Siemens electrical and diesel locomotives, as well as numerous light rail vehicles and streetcars. Additional responsibilities include supporting Siemens Customer Service as needed. The Reliability Data Analyst also supervises technical matters at our contractual depots and provides administrative assistance to both Reliability and Service Managers.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Maximize fleet performance by analyzing data to help prevent in-service failures and provide analytics to improve fleet reliability improvement measures.
• Analyze data for historic failures and establish trend analysis to support material, logistic and maintenance planning.
• Measure and track performance against agreed upon reliability targets.
• Support failure investigations and the completion of Root Cause Analysis reports.
• Support reliability and continuous improvement to minimize fleet down time and costs.
• Evaluate various data sources and identify precursors of systems that are repeatedly failing using statistical and machine learning based methodologies.
• Monitor trends with aim of identifying and advancing potential service affecting failures.
• Produce accurate reporting and dashboards for both internal and external client requests.
• Ensure data quality by identifying areas of concern and remediation through ETL style processes.
• Build, review, update and analyze internal performance databases.
• Drive automation of existing processes through scripting and process improvement.
• Measure and track performance against set KPIs.
• Use data to support internal Siemens departments in the development of Continuous Improvement Program(s).
• Provide advice on modifications and measures which can be implemented to improve component and system reliability.

To thrive in this role, you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or other related degree involving data analytics.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in data analytics.
• Experience in use of analytics tools for report and dashboard creation (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI).
• Experience building and maintaining databases, tables and queries.
• Proven advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint).
• Foundational understanding of machine learning and statistics.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Well demonstrated communication, listening, and organizational skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt and work with varying internal toolsets and databases.
• Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
• Ability to travel: 10%

The pay range for this position is $67,422.00 - $78,984.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
