Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

Key Responsibilities:
Build an updatable document knowledge base (RAG), conduct consistency validation of multi-source process parameters, and develop C# plugins within COMOS to enable retrieval and precise document localization. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, or related information fields, with the ability to commit to a stable internship period. 
  • Basic programming skills: proficiency in at least one of Python or C#; Willingness to learn development related to .NET, WPF, and COM. 
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn vector retrieval/RAG, text and table extraction (PDF/Office), information extraction, and data cleansing. 
  • Demonstrate good engineering practices: capable of writing clear README files and design documentation, and proficient in using Git for version control.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in RAG, retrieval, or knowledge base projects (e.g., embedding, BM25, reranking, chunking, citation). 
  • Experience in Office/PDF table extraction and structuring (e.g., pdfplumber, camelot, tabula) or document positioning and highlighting. 
  • Background in industrial engineering, instrumentation, or process engineering, with the ability to comprehend the semantic fields of P&ID, Line Lists, and instrument datasheets. 
  • Experience developing WPF/WinForms plugins, or the ability to quickly learn COMOS secondary development interfaces.
