Our Rolling Stock and Customer Service keeps trains running safely and reliably every day. The business delivers expert maintenance, technical support and digital solutions across the full lifecycle of rail fleets, helping customers maximise performance, availability and passenger satisfaction.


We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us in the Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock business as a Project Accountant to be based in Goole. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of effective project accounting and commercial support for our Traction Drives Business. You will be working alongside the Operations teams as well as the Finance team to help deliver the financial and commercial aspects of the project.

This role is based at our brand‑new Goole facility, with a requirement to be on site 4 days per week to collaborate closely with the team.


You’ll create an impact by…

  • Lead monthly forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting, including SAP reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Manage full month‑end close activities such as postings, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain and update cost models, project status reviews (PSRs), profit bridges, and task plans.
  • Prepare financial review materials and deliver monthly presentations.
  • Handle hedging and hedge accounting for foreign currency exposures.
  • Oversee workflow and GR/IR clearance, aged items review, and supplier/customer invoicing processes.
  • Produce ad‑hoc financial models, reports, and calculations to support commercial decision‑
  • Support variation order pricing, creation of offer documents, costing sheets, and maintenance of the risk register.
  • Ensure compliance with ICFR controls, including preparation of review and approval documentation.
  • Work with project teams to understand contract obligations, identify risks and opportunities, and support budget holders through regular cost reviews.


Your success will be grounded by…

  • Part-Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent with relevant experience in a project-based industry
  • Knowledge and experience using SAP (essential)
  • Understanding of POC (percentage of completion) Model would be an advantage
  • Excellent accounting skills with ability to demonstrate understanding and interpretation of key financial statements
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work as this role will involve working independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop
