Position Overview

The Senior Commercial Project Manager (SCPM) holds end-to-end commercial, financial, and contractual accountability for assigned Technical Support Spare Supply Agreement (TSSSA) contracts. The SCPM is responsible for Onshore Project P&L, revenue recognition, cost and cash control, risk and opportunity management, and commercial governance from execution through close-out, in full compliance with PM@Siemens, Siemens Commercial Regulations, and Siemens Compliance requirements. The role operates as part of the project core team, acting as the commercial counterpart to the Project Director/Manager and as the primary commercial interface to the customer.

What will you do?

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Assume full commercial responsibility for assigned TSSSA Onshore projects in accordance with PM@Siemens, including P&L, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Strong control over EAC (Estimated At Completion), Lead revenue recognition (service delivery / PoC), actuals vs. plan, margin evaluation, and long-term cash-flow forecasting, including governance of availability-based revenues, penalties, and bonuses, in compliance with IFRS and Siemens accounting policies.
  • Establish and maintain financial project structures (WBS, cost objects, service packages) aligned with contractual scope, fleet lifecycle, and service obligations.
  • Perform monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and project reviews, ensuring forecast accuracy, transparency, and timely escalation of deviations.
  • Support or lead TSSSA bid and re-pricing activities, including lifecycle cost models, availability pricing, risk contingencies, and management approvals.
  • Prepare and present commercial assessments, risks, and opportunities to management and internal approval bodies.

Risk, Opportunity & Change Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including availability performance, reliability growth, inflation escalation, obsolescence, and supply-chain exposure.
  • Lead change and variation management, including pricing, commercial negotiations, approvals, and contractual implementation in line with LoA.
  • Support claims, counterclaims, and dispute management in collaboration with Legal and Project Management.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the primary commercial interface to customers, leading negotiations on pricing, KPIs, service credits, penalties/bonuses, and contract amendments.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Directors/Managers, Service Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Plant Controlling to optimize availability, lifecycle cost, and project profitability.
  • Govern procurement-related commercial topics (spares, repairs, overhauls), ensuring contract compliance and budget adherence.

Governance, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to PM@Siemens, Siemens Commercial Regulations, Business Conduct Guidelines, and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation quality, traceability, and control effectiveness.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial or financial project management within complex, asset-intensive environments.
  • 5+ years managing long-term service or availability-based contracts with P&L accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer negotiations, variation management
  • PM@Siemens Certification Level C or higher
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel (~15%).

The successful candidate for this position must be fluent in English (oral and written) to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role. 

    • The role requires interaction with English and/or French speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or abroad.
    • The role requires regular interaction with Siemens colleagues based in Quebec, Ontario, nationally and internationally.
