Baseline Program Requirements:

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited university

Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the company

           A minimum 3.0 GPA

Perks:

Employee discounts at our top customer sites

           Networking with our global leaders

           Mentorship from senior employees

           Individual career development planning

           Professional and technical workshops

           Paid volunteer time off

           Energetic student community

           Leadership opportunities

Potential for full-time offers after university graduation and completion of the program

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Electromagnetics (EMAG) Intern to join our team! You will have the opportunity to support electromagnetic simulation workflows, learn and apply advanced EM simulation techniques and help extend existing models into complex, high‑fidelity simulations. You will engage directly with customers by providing technical support, troubleshooting guidance, and best‑practice recommendations.

A key part of the role includes creating clear, reusable documentation—such as application notes, workflow guides, and internal technical references—to strengthen team knowledge sharing.

You’ll additionally prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and introductory training sessions to both internal stakeholders and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop deep expertise in the Siemens Electromagnetics tool suite

Gain hands‑on experience with Simcenter FEKO, WinProp, and related simulation tools by exploring core workflows, learning advanced solver capabilities, and applying best practices for antenna, EMC/EMI, RCS, and RF propagation analysis.

·       Build high‑quality Proof‑of‑Concept (PoC) models for wireless coverage and RF network analysis

Design, simulate, and validate PoC projects demonstrating real‑world scenarios such as antenna placement, cell coverage, Wi‑Fi optimization, mmWave propagation, or IoT network behavior to support customer evaluations and internal R&D.

·       Investigate, validate, and document identified capabilities within FEKO

Analyze example models and test cases to benchmark solver performance, compare methodologies, and identify strengths or limitations of existing tool features. Provide clear documentation to capture findings and recommendations.

·       Extend baseline electromagnetic models into complex, high‑fidelity simulations

Adapt internal or customer‑provided geometries and constraints into advanced simulations involving large arrays, multi‑physics considerations, material modeling, or environmental complexity (e.g., buildings, vehicles, PCBs).

·       Support hardware (HW) and simulation customers through technical communication

Assist customers by answering technical questions via phone, email, or remote meetings. Provide troubleshooting help, share best‑practice workflows, and offer clarity on modeling and solver strategies.

·       Create clear, reusable documentation for processes, methodologies, and analysis steps

Prepare step-by-step guides, application notes, and internal references to improve knowledge transfer, training resources, project reproducibility, and overall team efficiency.

·       Deliver presentations, demos, and introductory training sessions to customers

Present simulation results, PoC outcomes, and tool capabilities to internal stakeholders and external customers. Support product workshops, technical demonstrations, and onboarding sessions using best‑practice communication principles.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled as a Junior (or above) pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. Masters preferred.
Coursework or academic projects related to electromagnetics, RF systems, microwave engineering, antenna design, or signal propagation are highly beneficial.

Strong aptitude for analytical and engineering problem‑solving
Ability to approach open‑ended technical challenges systematically — developing hypotheses, running simulations, validating results, and communicating insights.

Working knowledge of electromagnetic simulation tools
Experience with FEKO, HFSS, CST Studio Suite, COMSOL RF, or similar platforms. Understanding of solvers (MoM, FEM, FDTD, ray tracing), meshing, boundary conditions, and field post‑processing is a strong plus.

           Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Comfort communicating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to write clear documentation, participate in customer calls, and present simulation findings

Intrinsic motivation and eagerness to learn new technologies
Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to explore new software features, and enthusiasm for staying current with EM simulation methods and RF engineering trends.
