Siemens CF R NAM US is a high-performing governance team dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records for Siemens' Smart Infrastructure, Digital Industries, and Corporate Functions within the United States. We serve as a trusted partner to our businesses, providing expert guidance on all accounting and financial reporting matters. Our team is committed to maintaining efficient accounting processes, with a continuous focus on optimization and digitalization, to deliver transparent financial data and uphold impeccable books and records.

The Accounting Competence Team (CF R NAM US AC) collaborates closely with our business units and corporate functions to ensure a thorough understanding and correct application of Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRGs) to all business transactions, ultimately leading to accurate financial results. We function as the local accounting competence center, providing essential support for complex and non-routine accounting topics and transactions. In this capacity, we also work in close alignment with global Siemens accounting governance units when necessary. Our responsibilities extend to managing the FRG review and exemption process. Furthermore, the Accounting Competence Team actively supports and drives digitalization and productivity initiatives related to intricate accounting governance topics. We foster strong partnerships with CF R NAM Business Partners and various stakeholders across the organization, including IT, Legal, and Global Business Services (GBS).


Siemens CF R NAM US AC is seeking a talented and driven finance/accounting professional to join our dynamic Accounting Competence Team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills. We are looking for an individual with a forward-thinking, "digi-technical" mindset, demonstrating a keen interest in, and experience with, the latest financial tools and technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role will report directly to the Director of the CF R NAM US AC Team.

Responsibilities

The position comprises a wide variety of tasks with a clear potential to grow within the team or other parts of the organization:

• Research complex accounting topics brought to the Accounting Competence team by the businesses, corporate functions or other CF R departments
• Document research conclusions in e.g., Accounting Memos
• Effectively support and communicate accounting positions to interested parties: business colleagues, senior management, other CF R NAM teams, global counterparts, external auditors, etc.
• Provide training on accounting topics and quarterly update meetings for the entire finance community in North America
• Actively support accounting governance implementation projects (new accounting policies and guidelines) within the North America region
• Ensure that internal controls are in place and effective, comply with external regulations, cooperate with internal and external auditors
• Actively drive projects in a variety of areas like Digitalization Initiatives, Reorganizations, Software Implementations
• Actively analyze and support local process optimization, AI initiatives and productivity targets
• Review whether business policies, corporate planning, accounting policies and reporting guidelines are in line with requirements of FRGs / IFRS and other statutory requirements
• Advice and support the Head of CF R NAM in the strategic decision making process by providing decision proposals, concepts and suggestions for further optimizing and harmonizing local accounting processes


Required Skills/Education

• BS/BA required, in finance / accounting or related discipline • 5+ years of professional experience required
• Strong understanding and use of accounting principles (preference to IFRS)
• Ability to research and analyze complex accounting topics and present solutions to management
• Clear, concise, and effective communication skills including written communication skills as a key responsibility of the job is documenting accounting conclusions in formal accounting white papers
• Advanced knowledge and skills in the application of digital and automation tools and technologies
• Proficiency in MS365 applications including Copilot, as well as AI tools and platforms
• Self-driven and resourceful to meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work independently as well as collaborate in teams or functional groups
• Team player with excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong appreciation for the importance of ensuring accuracy in all levels of financial reporting
• This position will require approximately 10-15% travel


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• CPA or CPA candidate – “Big 4” accounting firm audit experience a plus
• Knowledge of SAP
• Advanced digital / automation and AI skills
• Detail oriented, but able to synthesize complex topics for consumption by both executive management and colleagues
• Adept at building and maintaining key working relationships and professional networks
• Growth mindset and passion for continued self-development through continuous learning and training efforts

The pay range for this position is $66,973 - $114,811 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
