We are seeking a Financial Reporting & Governance Accountant to serve as a trusted advisor to the business—guiding colleagues on Siemens’ Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRGs) and IFRS, influencing accounting outcomes, and ensuring transparent, financial reporting. This role offers exposure to sophisticated accounting topics, project business, and financial statements. It’s also an outstanding opportunity for continuous learning in a dynamic global environment.

Join us and help shape a brighter tomorrow.

What you’ll do

As part of our Accounting & Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in technical accounting advisory, reporting governance, and financial statement preparation. You will collaborate closely across the Siemens Mobility finance organization and with subject‑matter experts at headquarters to ensure accounting and compliance across a project portfolio.

Your key responsibilities include:

Business Advisory & Technical Accounting

  • Act as the primary interface to the business for technical accounting guidance and IFRS/FRG consultations.
  • Provide advisory support for new and existing projects, including contract reviews.
  • Conduct technical accounting research, evaluate the impacts of emerging accounting guidance, and lead the implementation of new standards.
  • Translate accounting topics into clear, actionable recommendations for finance and non‑finance partners.

Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare year‑end financial statements and liaise with management and external auditors on complex accounting issues.
  • Support monthly reporting cycles, including journal entries, disclosures, and compliance with internal timelines.
  • Perform governance activities, including periodic testing of accounting controls and review of financial processes.
  • Maintain awareness of new projects and business opportunities to ensure timely accounting assessments.

Process & Systems Excellence

  • Collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving systems, reporting processes, and the overall accounting landscape.
  • Contribute to the rollout of digital tools that enhance financial data interpretation and communication.
  • Continuously identify and recommend process improvements, ensuring robust documentation and governance.

This role places you at the center of a high‑knowledge, high‑impact accounting environment—with ongoing opportunities to build expertise in IFRS, revenue accounting, governance, and financial reporting.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting or technical accounting at a large, publicly held corporation.
  • Strong and practical understanding of percentage‑of‑completion (POC) / construction‑type project accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS, FRGs, and complex financial reporting requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject area.
  • Excellent communication and executive‑presence skills, including the ability to analyze, document, and explain technical accounting topics.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end‑to‑end reporting processes and governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to follow, document, and improve processes in a structured manner.

Additional Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Building Networks: Builds strong relationships across teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Collaboration: Effective teammate with the ability to work cross‑functionally and with external partners.
  • Driving for Results: Sets ambitious goals and follows through with high accountability.
  • Decision Making: Uses sound judgment to determine the best path forward.
  • Execution: Translates priorities into action plans and implements effectively.
  • Influencing: Persuades and gains consensus through clear reasoning and partnership.
  • Growth Mindset: Embraces learning and continuous improvement.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates high ethical standards, transparency, and compliance.
