Position Overview:
We are seeking a Software Development Intern to join our Simulation and Test Solutions (STS) organization. We create our Simcenter software products for computer-aided engineering. STS tackles flow simulation as well as thermal, structural, acoustic, and composite analysis. Our teams follow Agile-Scrum Software Development Lifecycle methodology framework which encourages teamwork and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Senior software and quality engineers will assist students in championing a variety of tasks such as:
- Gathering requirements from Stakeholders and prototyping new code
- Implementing new code changes
- Developing automated testing on project code
- Managing environment support
- Drafting design and coding documentation for future development expansion
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a university student (undergraduate or graduate) pursuing a degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering in their Sophomore year or above.
- Strong coding skills in C++, with knowledge in object-oriented concepts
- Commanding grasp of C#, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or Perl is beneficial
- Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable code
- Demonstrate skills in design and programming
- Rapid learner in new development areas
- Dedicated to continuous improvement
- Actively promote a collaborative, team‑first working environment
- Demonstrate clear, effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Show a proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and outcomes
The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education. The hourly pay range for this position is 18-50 per hour for first time Interns or 18-50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
