The System Test team performs system-wide testing to validate that products under development interoperate successfully with other products in the Siemens automation ecosystems. System Test team members identify and execute actual customer use cases and workflows to help evaluate product quality, and the team communicates findings to the Development teams. The System Test team also offers testing and test consulting services to Development team colleagues and assists them with investigating and reproducing customer problems.
We are looking for a System Test Manager. This job will be located in Johnson City, TN.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Work with US DSP SYS Manager to define expected System Test outcomes
- Plan, monitor, and control team activities to achieve outcomes
- Report status to US DSP SYS Manager, DI FA System Test leaders, and Development managers and leaders as required
- Help team discover and learn actual customer scenarios, use cases, and workflows
- Supervise creation and maintenance of system-wide test environments and test assets for product validation and problem investigation
- Interface with the US DSP SYS Manager and Development managers and leaders to know the current backlog and plans for upcoming projects
- Collaborate with Development teams on overall test coverage
- Coordinate with Development teams to ensure that customer problem reports are monitored, analyzed, and resolved; ensure that quality insights are shared with Development teams
- Collaborate with System Test leaders at other locations
- Develop productive relationships and maintain connections with customer-facing colleagues
- Comply with the established processes within DI FA and local R&D
- Promote and implement continuous improvements to process, test coverage, and test assets
- Participate in testing efforts, including test development, test execution, and reporting of results
- Manage System Test lab
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in engineering, software development, or other relevant technical field
- 8+ years of experience in relevant technical fields (e.g., hardware or software development or testing)
- Knowledgeable in industrial automation products and applications
- Understanding of the product development process and overall product lifecycle
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Familiarity with test methodologies and best practices
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with proven problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Able to interface with customer-facing colleagues to understand user workflows and applications
- Ability to interact productively with colleagues at all levels
- Excellent collaboration skills in a global development environment
- Strong training/mentoring skills
- Clear written and verbal communications
- Work mostly on-site at Siemens Industrial Automation Center in Johnson City, Tennessee, with up to 20% remote work
- 2+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Limited domestic and international travel (<5%)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200 annually with a target incentive of 10 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
