Senior Quality Engineer

At Siemens Healthineers, we pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably. We bring curious minds together to challenge convention, embrace digitalisation, and drive transformation in medical technology. Guided by our purpose and values, we work to shape the future of healthcare with compassion, expertise, and innovation—improving outcomes for patients and supporting those delivering care.

At our Oxford site, you’ll join a collaborative community where world‑class engineering, manufacturing excellence, and healthcare innovation come together under one roof. Here, teams work closely across functions to design, build, and optimise technologies that make a real difference to patients around the world. You’ll be part of an environment that values curiosity, continuous learning, and shared problem‑solving—supported by leaders who empower you to grow, contribute, and shape meaningful change. Whether you’re exploring new ideas, developing your expertise, or taking the next step in your career, our Oxford campus offers the space, support, and purpose to help you thrive.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our dynamic Quality team at our Magnet Technology site in Oxfordshire. This senior position plays a pivotal role in strengthening both internal and supplier‑related quality processes, supporting new product introduction, driving continuous improvement, and championing high standards across the organisation.

This role blends the responsibilities of a Quality Coach and elements of Supplier Quality Engineering, offering a broad remit across data analysis, auditing, process compliance, documentation management, and quality performance improvement. It requires someone proactive, analytical, collaborative, and confident engaging with cross‑functional stakeholders. The position supports both operational activities and the wider strategic direction of the Quality function.

What you’ll be doing

Auditing & Compliance

  • Lead and support internal audits and supplier audits against ISO 9001, ensuring adherence to standards and identifying meaningful improvement opportunities.
  • Define audit scope based on organisational needs, raising visibility of risks and improvement areas.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback and agree improvement actions with owners and deadlines.
  • Track, report, and drive closure of corrective actions to support ongoing excellence.

Non‑Conformance & CAPA Management

  • Coordinate internal and supplier non‑conformance processes, ensuring accuracy, timely completion and full documentation compliance.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyse trends and escalate systemic issues through the CAPA process.
  • Act as Quality Coach for CAPA activities, guiding teams to identify root causes and achieve effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Support development and execution of internal and supplier Quality Improvement Plans.

Data‑Driven Quality Performance

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively recommend corrective or preventative actions that strengthen process robustness.
  • Present summarised insights to cross‑functional teams, enabling informed decision‑making.
  • Ensure scorecards, dashboards, and quality KPIs are maintained, accurate, and visible.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead quality activities within NPI, ensuring compliance throughout each project milestone.
  • Review, manage, and release required documentation, ensuring readiness for each stage gate.
  • Collaborate with project teams to anticipate risks, support documentation quality, and champion best practice.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Quality Coaches, Supplier Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, SCM, and Engineering peers.
  • Build strong, positive working relationships and provide supportive, balanced challenge when needed.
  • Promote a culture where quality, continuous improvement, and forward‑thinking solutions are valued and embedded.

Additional Context

  • Travel is minimal, with the focus primarily on internal quality support and data‑driven activities rather than frequent supplier site visits.
  • The environment is fast‑paced, dynamic, and target‑driven, requiring resilience and thoughtful prioritisation.

What skills and experience you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience in quality roles will also be considered.
  • Proven background in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or manufacturing quality roles.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001; auditor certification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively, anticipate needs, and deliver improvements beyond expectations.
  • Confident analysing data, identifying trends, and communicating insights effectively.
  • Experience supporting CAPA, non‑conformance, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Skilled at building collaborative relationships and working constructively across departments.
  • Experience supporting NPI and documentation approval processes is beneficial.
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a dynamic, delivery‑focused environment.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • 26 days annual leave, with the option to buy up to 10 and sell up to 5
  • Up to 10% matched pension contributions
  • BUPA Private Medical
  • Bonus & Share Save Scheme
  • Free‑to‑use on‑site gym
  • 2 paid volunteering days a year
