Systems Platform Software Engineer h/f
Hello World, We are hiring!
We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly changing world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future.
Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our vibrant team.
Siemens Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Industries, is a leading global provider of software solutions to drive the digital transformation of industry, creating new opportunities for manufacturers to realize innovation.
Are you ready to take on real technical challenges while maximizing your impact? Join the Simulation division of Siemens Digital Industries Software and become a Software Engineer on the team developing Simcenter Amesim – our flagship multi-physics system simulation software used around the world.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Transform our legacy monolith into a modern, modular, and scalable architecture with robust APIs, ready for the future (unified portfolio, AI, and more).
- Deep dive into the code: advanced C++ refactoring, build chain modernization, CI/CD evolution, dependency decoupling, and tool improvements.
- Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of strategic components: simulators, numerical solvers, external interfaces.
Why join us?
- Work with distributed teams across several countries, spending 75% of your time on hands-on development.
- Thrive in an agile, supportive, and collaborative environment, where knowledge sharing, innovation, and enjoyment at work are part of the daily routine.
- We encourage boldness: suggest, experiment, learn, and grow—both for yourself and for the team.
What we're looking for:
Technical skills:
- Strong command of modern C++ (C++17/20) and a passion for architecture: modularity, decoupling, API design.
- Proficiency with build tools like CMake and Conan, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab).
- Confident tackling and refactoring legacy codebases, engaging in safe, structural improvements.
- Experience with Qt or simulation tools (Modelica, Amesim, Matlab/Simulink, FMI).
- Interest in exploring and supporting AI-assisted development.
Team spirit & leadership :
- You love to coach, connect, and help your colleagues grow.
- You drive technical changes by example and through open dialogue.
- You're comfortable communicating complex topics with diverse, international teams.
- You thrive in a multicultural environment and break down silos through collaboration.
Your mindset:
You think big picture, with a systems view, understanding the impact of each change. You combine a passion for coding with knowledge sharing. You’re proactive, able to spot problems, prioritize them, and bring others on board for solutions. Your ambition is to multiply your impact—advancing software architecture and support a positive team culture through ongoing collaboration.
