System Specialist – Field Technician (Graphics Specialist Building Automation - Solutions)

What will you do?
As System GRAPHICS Specialist, you will perform install, program, and configure the BAS front-end system for systems installed jobs. This position has the responsibility of providing guidance to customers and contractor. You will act as the external liaison working with customers and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a field technician position typically working at commercial, industrial, and institutional construction sites/occupied facilities. You coordinate and complete 3d BIM Modelling of the BAS scope of work on projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design and install the front-end GUI and database management
- Field configuration of system GUI
- Program customization of (apps, others)
- 3D BIM Modelling of system (conduit, end-devices, enclosures, etc.) for purposes of interference coordination with the construction team.
- Conducts training and development classes for customers on site or at the branch
- Works towards the project schedule and work package received from the supervisor and or project manager and maintains regular communication on the status and execution of the projects assigned
- Participates in job site final walk on assigned jobs and or final completion for systems to service turnover on assigned jobs
- Delivers technical support coaching and direction to end users and other Service Technicians as applicable
What will you need to succeed?
- Education: Requires three years of college or technical school (architectural, electrical, mechanical, or control engineering) or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience
- Experience BIM Modelling (Building Information Modelling)
- Experience with Graphical Software. Any of the following such as: Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, GIMP, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, or other similar tools.
- AutoCAD proficiency (any version)
- Ability to read/understand architectural/Mechanical/Electrical Blueprints
- 2+ years of direct experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS); less experience will also be considered
- Communication Protocols: BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, MSTP
- Good knowledge of building systems and relevant standards
- Proven diagnostic skills; able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
- Self-motivated and calm under pressure; willing to communicate and work though complex problems
- Autonomy, resourcefulness and strong organizational skills
- Commercially and technically aware
- IT literate and possess proficiency in Windows applications, including MS Office suite
- A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver’s licence is required to participate in the Siemens Fleet Program and to operate a vehicle for travel to customer sites within assigned region(s).

Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $65,000 - $75,000 CAD excluding bonus and benefits.
