The Opportunity
Our Rail Infrastructure Business Unit is seeking a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) to join the team and manage a portfolio of small- to medium-sized projects.
The CPM is responsible for all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects. This includes financial reporting, cost control, risk and opportunity management, and contract and claims management. The role ensures that all commercial and financial activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations
What will you do?
- Manage and report on the financial performance of assigned projects
- Identify, manage, and report project risks and opportunities
- Support the Project Manager on all commercial and contractual matters
- Ensure compliance with fiscal, commercial law, and internal commercial regulations
- Coordinate commercial matters involving legal, tax, and insurance aspects
- Ensure accurate cost controlling and financial monitoring of projects
- Prepare project invoices and track claims
- Ensure regular project reporting and presentation to management
- Ensure compliance with Siemens FRG and applicable local GAAP requirements
- Support Procurement and Logistics activities related to the project
- Support contract and claim management processes
What will you need to succeed?
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in Finance, Controlling, or Commercial Project Management
- Languages: English (Fluent), French (Preferred)
- Systems: Proficiency in SAP is an asset
- CPM or CPM-S Certification, or equivalent is an asset.
Hands-on experience in financial and commercial management within:
- Infrastructure project environments, or
- Project-based industries such as professional services
Relevant experience includes:
- Project controlling (budgeting, cost calculation, scheduling, cost change management, cash management, FX controlling)
- Risk and claim management
- Working in large international organizations, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Leadership & Personal Skills
- Strong self-initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 95,000 CAD - $ 110,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on Company performance metrics.
The successful candidate for this position must be fluent in English (oral and written) to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role.
- The role requires interaction with English and/or French speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or abroad.
- The role requires regular interaction with Siemens colleagues based in Quebec, Ontario, nationally and internationally.
