Design & Engineering Lead

Location: Navi Mumbai (on site deployment)
Reporting To: Project Director

Role Purpose

The Design & Engineering Lead is responsible for end‑to‑end engineering delivery of High Voltage AIS / GIS Substation projects including Data Center EPC projects, ensuring designs meet contractual requirements, applicable standards, constructability needs, and mission‑critical performance criteria.

The role provides technical leadership, manages multi‑discipline engineering interfaces, and ensures timely, right‑first‑time engineering outputs to support safe and on‑schedule project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage design & engineering activities
  • Ensure timely delivery of approved engineering deliverables including quantity take offs and BOQ management as per project schedule
  • Coordinate across disciplines (Electrical, MEP, Civil, BMS, Fire etc)
  • Ensure compliance with IEC / IS / IEEE standards and project specifications
  • Act as primary engineering interface with client, PMC, and consultants
  • Support value engineering, risk mitigation, and constructability reviews
  • Provide engineering support during construction, testing, and commissioning
  • Ensure closure of as‑built drawings and final engineering documentation

Data Center Engineering Focus

  • Power distribution architecture and system interfaces
  • Redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N) and reliability requirements
  • Commissioning readiness and phased energization support
  • Zero‑defect engineering to enable seamless handover

Key Competencies

Technical

  • Strong domain knowledge  High Voltage Substation and low side electrical works for Data Center EPC engineering
  • Experience managing multi‑discipline interfaces
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, engineering tools, and document control systems
  • Familiarity with managing and coordinating with BIM implementation team

Behavioral

  • Strong technical leadership and decision‑making ability
  • Structured, detail‑oriented, and execution‑focused
  • Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
  • 15+ years of experience in Design & Engineering for EPC projects and experience
  • Exposure to Data Center or Mission‑Critical infrastructure will be an added advantage.
