As a Project Procurement Manager, you are part of a team that drives procurement for international datacenter projects across Europe and Asia, focusing on the procurement of complex technical components such as integrated modular structures, transformers, UPS Systems and control cabinets and related on-site services.
You'll be a key collaborator with engineering, sales, and project & site management, actively contributing to process improvement and supplier selection. You'll join a close-knit, multicultural team located in The Hague, NL and Chennai, India, where collaboration, respect, and humor are valued. This role thrives on speed and flexibility in an agile, occasionally chaotic environment. Your focus will be to support our APAC business in accordance with aligned global processes.
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for 10+ years of project procurement experience (both sales and execution phase), with 3+ years focused on procuring material and services at Southeast Asian and Chinese suppliers and familiarity with international business and contracts. In addition, 3+ years of commodity/category management experience is needed for this position.
Your main activities will be during the sales phase, but you will also support requests during the execution phase. You will be assigned to selected tenders where you will need to coordinate the procurement activities and to advise on procurement matters and drive the implementation of the procurement strategies & targets for projects
Execute complex end-to-end procurement RFQ’s for materials and services. You will be specialized in procuring integrated modular structures for our new emerging Clients. These integrated Modular Structures combine Siemens’ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgears & busbar systems and with 3rd party products.
Lead and Coordinate Requests for Quotations and prepare total cost of ownership comparisons incl. product specific price breakdown
Lead contract negotiations and secure price agreements with various suppliers
Lead the supplier selection, prepare and document contract awards
Support in claim management and escalation procedures towards suppliers
Define and pre-actively build and manage a robust international supplier network for our growing demand in the APAC region. Ensure capacity and competitive pricing at our 3rd party suppliers.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supporting strategic initiatives in sustainability and digitalization.
As an experienced procurement person, you identify and lead cost out savings and efficiency gains
You are a strong communicator, have strong presentation skills and are fluent in English both verbally and in writing
You are wiling to travel in order to maintain the supplier base in APAC and in special cases participate in global team meetings in Europe in person
Strong affinity for technology, a deep understanding of complex technical products and their installation and commissioning on-site, and fluency in English (spoken and written).
You are a strategic thinker, and are proactive, analytical, and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
A Bachelor’s degree in procurement/supply chain or similar education is preferred. A formal technical education or practical on-site installation services is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office and Power BI is a plus.
