Siemens Government Technologies (SGT) is seeking a motivated and analytical Data Management and Communications Intern who will support the rollout and operationalization of our enterprise Data Center of Excellence (Data COE). This role blends communications and data documentation responsibilities to help increase organizational data literacy, transparency, and governance maturity.


This position is ideal for a college student interested in data management, business operations, communications, or information systems who can work independently and deliver structured outputs with limited daily oversight.

Responsibilities:
Data Communications & Engagement
Support organizational awareness and adoption of Data COE initiatives by:
•Drafting and publishing a Data COE newsletter
•Creating short educational content (e.g., “Data Term of the Month,” governance tips, quality best practices)
•Maintaining content on the Data COE SharePoint site 
•Developing simple job aids and one-pagers for business users
•Supporting communication plans for new standards, tools, or initiatives
•Tracking engagement metrics (open rates, clicks, attendance, etc.)

Documentation & Metadata Support
Support foundational governance and data management activities by:
•Documenting business definitions and data elements (metadata capture)
•Assisting with maintaining a data glossary
•Organizing documentation in SharePoint and/or Teams 
•Reviewing process documentation to identify potential data controls
•Supporting mapping of processes to systems and required data fields

Requirements:
•Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree 
•Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
•Rising junior
•Strong written communication skills
•Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining clear and organized documentation
•Comfortable working independently with defined objectives
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Requirements:
•Rising senior
•Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher

Security Clearance:
•Candidate must be US citizen and have the ability to obtain a US federal agency security clearance if later required.




You’ll Benefit From
The hourly pay range for this position $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
