Siemens is looking for a Mid-to-Senior IC Design Verification Engineer to join our innovative R&D team based in Brasov. Someone who brings substantial hands-on experience, a strong engineering mindset, and the ability to dig deep when it counts.

Our R&D team is at the forefront of functional verification, ensuring the robustness and reliability of complex IC designs. You'll define and implement verification strategies for IPs, ASICs, and SoCs using state-of-the-art methodologies and tools.

The Challenge & Your Impact: What You'll Do

As a key member of our R&D verification team, you will actively contribute to all phases of functional verification, from concept to closure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Architecting Verification Strategies: Analyze architectures, define verification strategies, select techniques, and develop effective patterns for real-world complexity.
  • Defining & Implementing Plans: Create and execute detailed verification and test plans to ensure thorough, structured, and traceable coverage across all design levels.
  • Developing & Reusing Verification Components: Implement modular, reusable, and maintainable verification components and testbenches – driving efficiency, scalability, and long-term quality across projects.
  • Executing & Closing Verification: Implement test cases and manage plan-to-closure verification using approaches like simulation-based and formal verification.
  • Debug & Analyze: Isolate complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver actionable findings across the design and verification stack.
  • Analyzing & Optimizing: Analyze verification metrics and performance data to continuously identify and implement improvements in verification flows.

Your Expertise: What You'll Bring

We're looking for an individual with a strong technical foundation, a seasoned engineering perspective, and a genuine passion for innovation. This isn't a role for someone just getting started; we're looking for someone who has been there, done that, and is ready to lead.

  • Educational Background: BSc, MSc, or PhD in electrical engineering, automation, or computer science.
  • Experience Level (Essential): 5+ years of relevant, hands-on experience in digital IC verification – ideally at a senior level – with a proven track record in functional verification of complex SoC/ASIC/FPGA designs at multiple levels (module, subsystem, top-level).
  • HVL/HDL Proficiency: Proficiency in hardware verification languages such as SystemVerilog, e, or PSL, and/or hardware description languages like VHDL/Verilog.
  • Object-Oriented Programming (Core Requirement): Deep, demonstrable understanding of OOP principles is a must. Comfortable in architecting scalable, class-based verification environments and applying OOP best practices to build robust, reusable verification IPs from the ground up.
  • Verification Methodology Mastery: Proficiency in simulation-based methodologies (UVM, eRM, VMM, OVM) with hands-on experience implementing and reusing verification components. Formal or SW-driven verification experience is a big plus.
  • Debugging Excellence (Core Requirement): Exceptional debug skills are a must. Confident and systematic in diagnosing failures across complex, multi-layered designs. Experience with advanced debug techniques and tools is highly valued.
  • Tool & Environment Savvy: Proficiency with industry-standard simulation tools and verification flows, Linux environments, and scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl, sh).
  • Domain Expertise: Digital circuits (control, communication, signal processing), single/multicore architectures, interfaces and protocols (especially AMBA).
  • RTL Design Exposure (Bonus!): Experience in RTL design is a great plus.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Impact: Work on pioneering IC designs that shape the future of global technology.
  • Innovation: Join a culture that encourages creative problem-solving and pushes technological boundaries.
  • Collaboration & Development: Work in a multidisciplinary team with continuous learning and growth opportunities in a world-leading R&D organization.
