Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds. Improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrives is if our people are thriving. That’s why we always put our people first. Transform the everyday with us!

We are seeking a Senior Lead Project Engineer - Utility Systems / Medium Voltage Solutions Engineer for a high-visibility role combining technical expertise, customer engagement, and end-to-end solution ownership across the GTD value chain. You will serve as a technical authority spanning offers engineering, orders engineering, and project execution — a role intentionally developed for engineers who want to move beyond narrow, product-only positions.

The Utility Systems & Solutions business within Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA) enables a more reliable, resilient, and sustainable electric grid across the full generation, transmission, and distribution (GTD) value chain. We partner with electric utilities and EPC organizations to deliver integrated, turnkey electrical systems that support grid modernization, capacity expansion, and the energy transition. We combine deep power-system expertise, digital-ready platforms, and proven EPC execution to reduce project risk, shorten deployment timelines, and help customers future-proof their grids. Our portfolio includes medium-voltage air- and gas-insulated switchgear (AIS & GIS), outdoor circuit breakers, MV protection, control and automation systems, power equipment centers, overhead and underground distribution solutions, low-voltage motor control centers, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, and complementary MV/LV technologies. These solutions deploy across Generation — conventional power plants, renewable energy facilities, and energy storage systems, Transmission & sub-transmission — substations, switching stations, and grid interconnections, and Distribution — feeder expansion, grid hardening, resilience initiatives, and customer electrification.

Our national headquarters is in Wendell, North Carolina— in the heart of the Research Triangle, about 20 minutes east of Raleigh. Enjoy top-rated schools, a mild four-season climate, easy access to mountains and coast, and a cost of living that lets your compensation go further than most major metros — without trade-offs.

This hybrid Senior Lead Project Engineer - Utility Systems / Medium Voltage Solutions Engineer position is based in Wendell, NC. Local candidates are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance may be available if eligible. Remote work may be also considered for highly qualified candidates.
