We are looking for Senior Design Engineer – High Speed

Join our team as a Design Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge, environmentally friendly rail vehicles. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues to design and engineer the high-speed trains of the future.

You’ll make a difference by

  • Assist in concept development and integration of mechanical assemblies across Interior components, Electrical cable routing and piping, Exterior Installations and Cabinets & Containers in high-speed trains
  • Support preparation of design documentation, 3D/2D models, installation drawings and technical specifications and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on technical solutions
  • Assist in analyzing customer specifications and relevant standards
  • Prepare and check manufacturing and assembly documentation
  • Support approval processes and testing activities
  • Coordinate with Indian suppliers for technical clarifications and documentation
  • Contribute to requirement management and compliance verification
  • Learn and apply standard engineering practices including material selection and tolerance analysis

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 12-14 years of experience in Rolling Stock domain
  • Initial experience or internships in mechanical design, preferably in rail vehicle construction
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and joining techniques (e.g., bolting, bonding, riveting)
  • Experience with materials such as fiber composites, wood, metals, glass, and familiarity with lighting systems and/or adhesive technology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools, preferably Creo, and PLM systems (SAP & Teamcenter)
  • Good command of English; German language skills are an advantage
  • Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
