PreSales Solution Consultant - US Based

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in or lead relevant PreSales processes to support software sales, with a focus on landing new customer business and expanding the installed base at existing customers.
- Engage with customers and prospects to gather high-level business and technical requirements, understand market trends, assess existing IT infrastructure, and identify customer business needs.
- Apply knowledge of customer business needs, engineering and manufacturing processes, industry best practices, and competitive differentiation to support product and solution positioning.
- Prepare and deliver customized and standard demonstrations that communicate the technical capabilities and business value of proposed Siemens DI SW solutions.
- Speak with authority on customer business challenges and tailor messaging to the customer’s context and industry, aligned with the Account Orchestrator.
- Work on projects and assignments of moderate scope, typically under self-management, while determining appropriate methods and procedures for assignments and projects.
- Mentor less experienced PreSales Solution Consultants in domain knowledge, PreSales best practices, and relevant processes within the country or vertical.
- Knowledge of the manufacture of and with machine tools and the associated use cases are an advantage.
Key Focus Areas:
- Customer and Industry Insight: Analyze customer operations, machine tool manufacturing use cases, and market trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Solution Design and Value Communication: Shape tailored software solution concepts and clearly communicate their technical and business value.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a technical bridge between customers, sales, and product teams to align requirements, feedback, and solution strategy.
- Technical Proposals and Proofs of Concept: Develop technical proposals, specifications, and proof-of-concept plans that demonstrate solution feasibility and customer value.
- Competitive Awareness: Monitor competitor offerings and emerging shop floor management trends to strengthen positioning and inform future direction.
- Sales Support: Support sales objectives by building technical credibility, customer trust, and confidence in the proposed solution.
- Strategic Customer Consulting and Needs Analysis: You are responsible for proactively analyzing customer needs within the machine tool manufacturing sector and providing strategic advice on the optimal integration of our shop floor management software to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Liaison between Sales, Product Development, and the Customer: You act as a central point of contact, relaying customer feedback and market requirements to the product development team while supporting sales with technical expertise and sales arguments to effectively drive the entire sales process.
- Preparation of Technical Proposals and Proofs of Concept: You create detailed technical proposals and specifications and are responsible—where applicable—for planning and executing feasibility studies (proofs of concept) to demonstrate the technical viability and benefits of the solution.
- Market and Competitor Analysis and Trend Monitoring: You continuously monitor the market, analyze competitor products, and identify emerging trends in shop floor management and machine tools to strengthen our market position and influence future product development.
Qualifications:
- Completed technical degree in general. Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent technical training with relevant professional experience
- Experience in software selection / implementation projects (either on the user or provider side) and good knowledge of business models, requirements and working methods in various industries with regard to digitization.
- Strong affinity to industrial software and the methodology of software sales ("value-based", "consultative-selling")
- Very good written and spoken German and English [U.S. edit: confirm whether German is truly business-essential; otherwise localize requirement for the U.S. market.]
- Ability to analyze, motivate, learn and communicate well, combined with customer orientation and persuasiveness
- Availability for travel up to 50%.

The pay range for this position is 125,300 - 250,600 annually with a target incentive of 20 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
