Position Overview:

Motor Technicians are responsible for the assembly of a motor to include operating production equipment, disassembly, cleaning of parts and assembling components according to drawings and guidelines to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met. Motor technicians may need to work directly with supervisor or engineers to resolve any production issues.

Shift: 5:30pm-4:00am (2-3 months of training will be on the 1st shift which is 6:30am-5:00pm)

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Inspect, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and adjust motor units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements, document the process with photos.
• Perform visual inbound inspection, unpackage and stage components, and record winding and bearing insulation using required tools.
• Remove couplings with hydraulic tools and disassemble motors using specialized tool kits, inspecting all housings, journals, and couplings per drawings.
• Clean all labyrinth seals, rotor and pulse wheel assemblies, remove surface rust from rotors as needed, and bake rotor and stator assemblies at low temperatures for specified durations.
• After cleaning, record insulation resistance test results, conduct surge compression tests to verify stator winding conditions, and inspect coils for damage.
• Clean end bells, fittings, drain holes, and other parts; balance rotor and pulse wheel assemblies, recording results and using special balance weights as required.
• Install new bearings, replace grease tubes and nipples, flush regreasing provisions, reassemble motors, and conduct electrical tests—including Megger(insulation resistance tester) and vibration analysis—recording results throughout the process.
• Reinstall couplings, provide motors for painting, clean work areas, inventory tools, conduct 6S audits and safety walks, and participate in work groups to optimize processes and workflows.

To thrive in this role, you have:

• HS diploma or equivalent required
• Proficient in mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications)
• Strong knowledge of English language structure, composition, and grammar
• Understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations and procedures
• Familiarity with product standards and assembly procedures
• Basic computer software skills
• Experience with machines, tools, and their maintenance
• Ability to document and record information accurately in written or electronic form

The starting hourly rate for this position in Georgia is $18.52 - $25.56(plus a 10% shift differential for second shift). The hourly rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The pay for this position is $18.52-$25.56 per hour, plus an additional 10% shift differential. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
