Our Electrical Standards team is looking for a Product Engineer located in our Grand Prairie, TX, facility where we develop, design and manufacturer low voltage power distribution equipment including switchboards, LV switchgear, power panels, and lighting panels, furnished with integrated power monitoring and control systems. Your engineering knowledge will help our organization improve its ability to make the world a safer and more reliable place for our customers who need reliable power distribution and control systems to ensure quality and reliable power is maintained for their power applications. In this role you will be responsible for the creation and support of electrical drawing and documentation standards. You will work alongside others in R&D and on the Electrical Standards team to maintain existing standards and to create new electrical standards using electrical design software such as Zuken E3.Series, Promise Connect, and AutoCAD.

You will make an impact by:

  • Create new and maintain existing electrical standards within Zuken E3.Series, comprised of Schematics and Wiring Diagrams, System Layout Configurations, and Bill of Materials for low voltage power distribution equipment according to applicable electrical standards, (i.e., ANSI/NEMA/UL/NEC/CSA).
  • Provide support & resolution to manufacturing, Order Engineering, Product Management, and Project Management for factory and field related issues.
  • Take ownership for developing electrical standards that provide design solutions as part of the Electrical Standards team.
  • Provide Zuken E3.Series user-support and training to others within the Engineering department.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds and climb ladders as needed.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering (or other relevant field) or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
  • 2-5 years working with electrical power systems and control circuits.
  • Ability to interpret and apply ANSI/NEMA/UL/NEC electrical standards for circuit design and power system applications.
  • Expertise in Zuken E3 preferred but will consider those with schematic/AutoCAD software experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A good working knowledge of UL489 and UL1066 Air Circuit Breakers, Power Management Relays, Voltage and Current Transformers, Modbus RTU and Ethernet Communications, AC/DC and DC/DC Power Supplies, PLC’s, and other general electrical control components.
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering electrical drawing packages for switchboard and/or LV switchgear which include equipment elevation drawings, power flow one-line diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials.
  • A good work ethic and commitment to on-time performance and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The pay range for this position is $75,684 - $158,263 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
