Application Engineering Internship
- Supporting applications engineering analysis for utility-scale and community solar projects, including evaluation of design parameters and customer requirements.
- Assisting with development and optimization of pricing tools and proposals for Siemens utility solar solutions.
- Working with suppliers and partners to validate cost inputs and support accurate pricing and margin targets.
- Supporting the creation and update of customer-facing technical content, including datasheets, whitepapers, and manuals.
- Collaborating with applications engineering, project management, and marketing teams to develop integrated pricing packages that include options, shipping, commissioning, and payment terms.
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
- Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Demonstrated analytical skills related to engineering analysis, pricing, or cost modeling.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial concepts within sales or business development processes.
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks or projects with competing deadlines.
- Ability to work across multiple functions to gather input and align on solutions.
- Interest in utility-scale solar, photovoltaic inverter technology, or renewable energy systems.
The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour for first time Interns or $25.50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
