In this role, you will be responsible for driving the solution implementation and project deliverables for our IoT/SaaS portfolio offerings for a diverse range of customers that include Utilities, Industries and Infrastructure Power Systems.

You’ll make a difference by

In this role, you will ensures that our IoT / SaaS enabled substation solutions are engineered, delivered, and validated to the highest technical and quality standards to enable a seamless integration between field devices, gateways, cloud platforms, and applications. As a core technical lead within the Power Automation Solution (PA-SOL) team, you will drive successful execution and adoption of our IoT/SaaS offerings across our global regions.

  • You leverage deep knowledge of substation automation and IoT technologies (Hardware and Software) to ensure successful project execution from order intake to on-site delivery for our regions. Prepare and validate complex solution architectures tailored to the customer and project requirements. Evaluate engineering effort and solution feasibility to support robust project planning and proposal accuracy.
  • You are responsible for acting as the primary technical expert touchpoint for IoT / SaaS offerings within the PA-SOL global organization and support the regional teams worldwide. Provide troubleshooting support to our expert teams in our regions for the various aspects of IoT / SaaS projects including system architecture, gateway configuration, cloud application setup, asset onboarding and data visualization. Ensure smooth commissioning and integration with existing assets, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
  • You work closely with HQ and regional teams across Proposals, PLM, Engineering and Operations to standardize and optimize the engineering practices, deployment approaches, and develop reusable solution components. Promote best practices and continuously improve engineering and testing methodologies. Enable regional teams to scale expertise and deliver projects with increased quality and efficiency.
  • You are responsible for setup and maintenance of the lab infrastructure for testing, training, Demos and proof of concept development.

Your defining qualities

  • Education: The basis of your success is a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field.
  • Experience & Skills
    • Several years of hands-on experience in project engineering, preferably in Power Automation, IoT, Networking, IT/OT domains with a strong understanding of IoT architectures, including - Edge devices and gateways, Secure communication from field devices to cloud platforms, Cloud-based IoT applications.
    • Practical experience with industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850, MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA/OA etc.
    • Advanced engineering and commissioning experience with Power Automation portfolios, ideally including SICAM A8000, SICAM S8000, SICAM HMI, SICAM Web, SICAM GridPass etc.
    • Advanced experience with engineering and configuration tools such as SICAM Device Manager, SIAPP. Knowledge or hands-on experience with WinCC OA is a strong advantage.
    • Working level understanding of Distribution Automation and IoT devices, e.g. SICAM FCM, RTU’s, SICAM FSI / FCG, Power Quality Recorders, SICAM EGS etc.
  • Ways of working
    • A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset is required for the design of practical and scalable technical solutions, alongside a proactive, structured, and quality-driven approach to engineering and execution.
    • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with regional teams, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Comfortable working in a global, multicultural environment, supporting regions across different time zones and maturity levels.
  • Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages such as German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or Hindi are a strong advantage.
