Manufacturing Engineering Internship
- Supporting the collection and analysis of manufacturing data to establish key performance indicators used by team members and management.
- Working closely with manufacturing team members and an assigned Manufacturing Engineer to develop, communicate, and refine performance metrics and operational insights.
- Assisting with material flow analysis from raw material receipt through fabrication and delivery to production lines.
- Conducting time studies and process mapping to identify opportunities for efficiency, capacity improvement, and workflow optimization.
- Collaborating daily with fabrication teams to support logistics, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Eligible candidates must be within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
- Exposure to manufacturing or fabrication environments.
- Familiarity with process mapping, time studies, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Interest in manufacturing logistics, capacity planning, or production flow optimization.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional manufacturing teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to support data-driven decision making.
The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour for first time Interns or $25.50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
