We're enhancing the way we live and work by intelligently connecting energy systems, buildings and industries!!

Smart infrastructure from Siemens makes the world a more connected and caring place – where resources are valued, where impact on the world is considered, where sustainable energy is delivered reliably and efficiently. It provides the flexible infrastructure to allow society to evolve and respond to changing conditions. Technology and the ingenuity of people come together to be at one with our environments and to care for our world. We do this from the macro to the micro level, from physical products, components and systems to connected, cloud-based digital offerings and services. Siemens offers a broad portfolio of grid control and automation; low- and medium-voltage power distribution, switching and control; and building automation, fire safety and security, HVAC control and energy solutions.

Position Profile
Job Profile: Cost and Value Engineering
- Process expert in Sheet Metal, Fabrication (Cabinets), Plastic injection, Machining, Casting and forging.
- Contribute to competitiveness and profitability of products and solutions through application of Cost and Value Engineering levers and methods.
- Expert in the Siemens-wide CVE network
Contribute expertise to the Siemens-wide CVE network, focusing on certain commodities within the assigned Division/BU.

Transparency of production processes
Maintain knowledge about production technology and costing in specific material field.
Apply appropriate tools for Cost Analysis and Optimization (CAO), Supply Chain Productivity Improvement (SPI) and Design to Value (DtC) along the PLM / PM process

Cost target setting
Compile feasible costs per component as basis for bottom-up target indication and cost split.
Propose alternative manufacturing scenarios and quantification of potentials to Systems CVEs and other Procurement functions, in particular PE.

Design to Cost and Standardization
Calculate cost base lining and regular cost updates for components acc. to maturity of design
Challenge requirements and related costs as basis for proposals of DtC measures to R&D, to PEs and to Systems CVEs along the Design process, and quantify financial impact expectation.

Supply Chain Productivity Improvement (SPI)
Generate transparency in supplier processes, applied technologies and related costs
Identify and quantify improvement potentials, contribute transparency to negotiations
Coach suppliers in technology-based and lean optimization of their supply chain

Cost and value models and design rules
Establish cost and value models as well as design rules that use information on specific production processes, production equipment, suppliers and related costs
Maintain and provide benchmark data on design characteristics (e.g. material thickness, surface quality, curvature) and related costs.

Role
In the context of cost and value engineering, we are looking for a key expert for the systematic modeling and management of infrastructure and data. As a key expert, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and continuously improving cost models of manufacturing technologies and end products.
Your tasks will include the creation of cost and emission models in coordination with your own team and relevant interface functions, e.g. R&D and product management.
You create and manage the required system. They prepare their know-how and results and transfer them to the CVE organization and create management reports on the progress.
You will act as the first point of contact for our expert software for both colleagues and the software provider (e.g. for new functions).
You will identify optimization and improvement potential in existing calculation processes and implement the improvements with the aim of increasing the efficiency and quality of analyses and calculations. You will implement simpler automation solutions yourself or act as a project manager for more complex automation solutions.
In addition, you will identify further automation needs and digitalization, look for solutions and drive implementation.
Your future tasks will also include the conception and implementation of a CVE application/dashboard for smart and fast calculations and reports.
Constantly you inform yourself about new software solutions and innovations from suppliers and their potential for SI .
Competencies
• The basis of your success is a bachelor's degree in business informatics, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Building on this, you have several years of professional experience (12 to 15 years+) in cost and value engineering
• You can use common MS Office applications and a product cost management tool such as TCPM or TSET
• Knowledge of Python, SQL and big data analytics as well as expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning is a plus
• Intercultural experience as well as very good presentation and communication skills (in German & English)

This role is based in Kalwa , where you’ll get the chance to work with teams impacting entire cities, countries – and the shape of things to come.
