About the Job
Are you a dynamic sales professional with a passion for sustainability and an interest in building strong relationships? We're looking for an Energy Account Executive to join our team in an exciting overlay role. In this position, you'll be the go-to energy expert, driving new business growth and expanding client relationships within the education market. Your mission will be to exceed sales targets for our groundbreaking Energy product line by empowering our sales team and directly engaging with clients.

You'll build meaningful, trust-based relationships, deliver exceptional value in every interaction, and expertly guide opportunities from initial discovery to successful close. What you will do
  • Become the Energy Champion: Serve as the subject matter expert for our Energy product line, supporting the broader education sales team to achieve their goals and drive energy-focused solutions.
  • Cultivate Key Relationships: Build and nurture strong, trust-based relationships with prospective and existing clients, becoming a trusted advisor in their energy management journey.
  • Exceed Sales Targets: Consistently meet or surpass sales goals through a combination of proactive self-sourced leads and strategic collaboration with the education sales team.
  • Navigate Complex Sales Cycles: Master the software sales cycle with insight, empathy, and critical thinking, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for clients.
  • Drive New Business: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic outreach, networking, and a deep understanding of client needs.
  • Strategic Account Alignment: Align account strategies with company objectives, meticulously tracking progress and celebrating key achievements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with sales, sales development, marketing, and product teams to ensure client success and drive integrated solutions.
  • Accelerate Deal Closure: Lead the procurement process with urgency and precision, ensuring efficient and timely deal closures.
  • Continuous Growth: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and continuously enhance your skills through ongoing learning opportunities and professional development.

What you need

  • Proven Sales Acumen: 3+ years of demonstrated success in inside sales, with a strong focus on new client acquisition and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Growth Mindset: A genuine passion for continuous improvement, learning, and adapting to new challenges.
  • Exceptional Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to understand client needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual collaboration platforms.
  • Pipeline Generation Expert: Proven success in outbound prospecting and building a robust, high-performing sales pipeline.

  • Energy Management Expertise: Familiarity with Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS) and a clear understanding of their impact on energy consumption.
  • SLED Market Insight: Deep understanding of the State, Local, and Education (SLED) market and its unique dynamics.

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 annually with a commission target of $65,000 - $85,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
