About the Job
The role of Team Lead, Accounting is a highly collaborative and influential role at Brightly Software. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic technology environment where new initiatives and consistent learning define each day. We are looking for an accounting expert who prioritizes relationship building and is versed in financial reporting and technical accounting, including the preparation of (audited) statutory financial statements for single entities.
This is a global role and the successful candidate will have a history of process improvements and hands-on technical expertise with financial reporting within a large global entity. This candidate will have a passion for coaching and for learning in an evolving environment. The Team Lead, Accounting will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting and be a key leader on the accounting team with direct exposure to executive leadership. This role requires interaction with external auditors as well as with internal finance and legal departments.
What you will do
- Manage the preparation of financial statements for local statutory reporting.
- Manage external audits, including coordinating timing and delivery of support directly with auditors.
- Conduct technical accounting research pertaining to new business initiatives including integration within Siemens.
- Implement international accounting standards, including internal control considerations for new accounting standards and unusual transactions or agreements.
- Prepare journal entries for significant accounting transactions and provide guidance to operational finance teams to ensure transactions are properly accounted.
- Continuously improve the global accounting processes and procedures by identifying areas to streamline, automate and refine processes.
- Provide training on technical topics and process improvements within the global business.
- Lead month-end close activities including review of manual entries and account reconciliations.
- Mentor and develop members on the team globally to enable achievement of goals and continuous improvement while contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture with highest integrity and sense of ownership.
- Strengthen internal controls, enhance processes to accelerate close activities while maintaining accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Liaising with management and advising as needed to ensure that executives are knowledgeable about the financial status of the company.
What you need
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience
- 1-3 years of people management experience and/or experience providing instruction and guidance to team members
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field
- Excellent understanding of U.S. GAAP, FASB codification, IFRS and technical accounting research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of internal controls framework
- Must be able to excel in a fast-paced, goal oriented and driven environment

The pay range for this position is $83,966 - $143,942 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
