Position Overview:
The Siemens EDA Global Support team is seeking a dynamic, support engineer for the Xpedition Enterprise tools suite, with emphasis on EDM tools. Building on EDA experience and system administration skills, this individual will work directly with internal and external customers to resolve tool issues, partner with account teams to educate users and grow product usage, and create knowledge content for the web-based support portal.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively help customers quickly become productive with Xpedition Design, Library and Data Management tools.
- Help customers achieve project deadlines by providing support by phone, electronic means, or on-site.
- Engage with existing customers to understand and provide guidance for their PCB design methodology, including logic design, physical design, verification, and library and data management tasks.
- Assist account teams with struggling customers to overcome challenges.
- Interface with customers and Electronic Board Systems engineering and provide feedback in both directions.
- Regularly participate in meetings and conference calls with customers, both internal and external.
- Work as part of the account team to develop solutions for customer issues and take an active role in communicating these solutions to the customer.
- Capture knowledge for web-based support systems in the form of articles, white papers, and videos.
- Provide proactive customer feedback to product marketing and engineering to drive improvement and future evolution of the product line.
- Provide first-line support for all tools in the Xpedition tool suite. Document software defects in our bug-tracking database. Work closely with customers to log software enhancements.

Job Requirements:
- BS degree in Electronics, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- +3 years of experience in the PCB design process from schematic entry to layout/manufacturing.
- Experience with PCB design tools (including PCB data management) such as Xpedition Enterprise, Cadence Allegro, Altium or similar.
- Knowledge in the ECAD Library, electrical system design, and data management domains
- Strong customer Support attitude and soft skills.
- Knowledge and experience with any programming or scripting language (VB Scripting and Python) highly desirable.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently but collaboratively and to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving product and technical environment.
- Manage multiple tasks and customer issues concurrently.
- Willingness to travel to internal meetings and customer sites.
- Prior customer-facing experience is a plus.
- Ability to learn and grow into different product areas as required.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
