We are looking for a Senior R&D Design Engineer – Power Circuit Protection. This position will be based in Grand Prairie, TX.

This is a hybrid role requiring an in-office presence typically 2–3 days per week. In this position, you will lead electromechanical new product development and enhancements for power circuit protection components used in switchgear and power distribution equipment. You will work cross-functionally to translate product requirements into reliable, manufacturable designs from concept through testing, certification, and manufacturing introduction.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Leading electromechanical design and development of power circuit protection components and devices, including circuit breakers, switches, and related assemblies.
  • Translating product specifications and customer requirements into robust designs, with a strong emphasis on new product development and technical ownership.
  • Creating and maintaining 3D models and detailed piece-part drawings using modern CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Performing technical analysis, prototyping, and validation activities to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Owning product testing and supporting certification efforts prior to manufacturing release.
  • Driving cost, manufacturability, and sourcing considerations through collaboration with purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Leading projects end to end, coordinating cross-functional teams, timelines, and documentation to support successful product launches.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electromechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with the following:
    • Electromechanical new product design from requirements through testing.
    • 3D CAD modeling and creation of detailed drawings for mechanical and electromechanical components.
    • Prototyping of large industrial or electrical components
    • Bill of materials (BOM) creation and management, and experience working within PLM/ERP systems.
    • Cross-functional and supplier collaboration in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with the following:
    • New product design within power circuit protection or power distribution products.
    • Project management, including end-to-end ownership of schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional execution.
  • Ability and desire to grow into a role with increasing responsibility.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience designing power distribution equipment such as switchgear, switch devices, or circuit breakers.
  • 5+ years of project management, including end-to-end ownership of schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional execution.
  • Proficiency with Siemens Teamcenter, SAP, and/or similar PLM/ERP tools.
  • Experience with engineering and product launch methodologies (e.g., FMEA, PPAP)
  • Additive manufacturing techniques.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis and project management tools (e.g., Minitab, MS Project, or equivalent)

The pay range for this position is 92,320 - 158,263 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
