We are looking for an Electrical Protection Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation team in Milan with a permanent contract.

Your challenge:

As an Electrical Protection Engineer, you will contribute to the development and commissioning of energy automation systems for medium- and high-voltage electrical substations and power plants.

• Configure protection relays (including SIPROTEC) according to functional and logic diagrams.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of electrical automation systems.
• Support and execute Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) during commissioning activities.
• Analyze fault recordings and disturbance waveforms using oscilloperturbographic records.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative and smart solutions for energy automation systems.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in protection engineering or substation automation.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with IEC61850 and digital protection systems
• Experience with TSO or DSO in the substation sector is a plus.
• Availability for business travel (site activities and commissioning).
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A continuous learning mindset and passion for professional growth.
• Respect for diversity and willingness to collaborate and share knowledge.
• Proficiency in Italian and English.
• Eligibility to work in Italy.
