What will you do?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Engineer to support and improve our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in assembly manufacturing, lean manufacturing practices, and production floor layout optimization. This role will focus on improving existing process flow, increasing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve assembly production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects.
- Improve production floor layout and workflow to optimize material movement and space utilization.
- Optimize existing process flow, line balancing, and cycle time to increase productivity.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement improvements.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition into production.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as productivity, quality, scrap, and downtime.
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement.
- Experience improving production layout and process flow.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with production teams on the shop floor.
Preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Experience with value stream mapping, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 76,000 CAD - $ 110,00 CAD. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10% of the base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
